What happened last Sunday night? I still think the president is a jackass...context?

Mike will get into the audience to handle things himself if he feels he needs to. I think I told this story here before too, but it fits the topic.

When they came to England in 1996 they played a real small venue in Leeds (about 100 people) and some guy decided to start gobbing at the band. Mike asked a few times for him to stop, but he kept on spitting. So Mike got really angry put his guitar down whet into the crowd and went for the Guy, there were a few punches traded before the security dragged the guy out. Mike returned to the stage to loads of applause and pats on the back. He picked up his guitar and they blasted through a cover of the Damned's JetBoy JetGirl before returning to the set. The rest of the show was amazing because he was so damn angry it bought the best out of the band. My all time favorite show !!

Hey John was that show the one that I have that pic I stole (haha I mean borrowed) from you on my myspace page? That is one of my favorite pics of him I actually have it framed in my house.

I was at the show. Mike was talking shit on Bush and a few guys in the audience started booing him. Mike gave one of them the microphone and the guy said "Mike I respect you, but if you ever talk about the president that way again..." at which point Mike jumped into the audience and went after him. Security removed the guy from the venue. A few songs later his buddies continued to boo so Mike took money out of his wallet and said, "Here's a refund for the rest of the show you are going to miss." They were then removed from the venue.

When you say going after him do you mean hop over the barrier charge him down and then security gets to him before Mike or Mike acting as if he was going after and security steps in for him? I cant imagine Mike going thru the cattle rush of people just to get to a shithead and possibly pound their face in or whatever.<hr /></blockquote>It a week or so before that dvd was recorded. Mike jumped into the audience and started punching the dude.

I cant help but wonder if Mike is possibly taking Xanax or some other type of anti anxiety medication these days. He seems very upbeat. Always laughing and smiling and having a good time. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I saw Social D in Norfolk last year and even when some kid in the crowd tried to talk shit to him, he just laughed it off. He said "You better watch or Im gonna let that 16 year old girl kick your ass, then Im gonna kick your ass just for something to do". Despite the threat he said it with a huge smile on his face, and quickly got back to the show.

I'm sure after all these years he's realized that it's not worth it. Jackasses are everywhere. So stomping one of them isn't going to accomplish anything but paying for his new wardrobe after he sues you.

No, that picture was from 1992 at their first ever UK show. Glad you like the picture, it was probably the best of the set I took.

I was at "the fight show" as well up in the balcony and it pretty much wnet went down as posted. Mike was talking bad about Bush, got booed and gave the mic to a fan who started to talk crap on him. I could have sworn the fan said the "n" word and then Mike jumped into the crown and beat the guy. It was an interesting night that's for sure

Man, that's so interesting thread! Especially JGoaten story. We think that's not good and fun when frontman doing something like that. But all Mike's behavior in described situations was understandable and we think - right. And we newer thought that such stuff happened in USA at the gigs of such old respectfull bands. Shouting some shit about the band on their gig it's a stuf for stupid kids.
